A Dreamy Bollywood-Inspired Wedding in Bangalore
They met at work in Dubai, they fell in love, and then they decided to have a destination wedding in Bangalore that was inspired by their favorite Bollywood movie, 2 States. From the vibrant pink mandap to the traditional south Indian ceremony mixed with north Indian rituals, this wedding was a true feast for the senses. The wedding was designed to capture the energy and joy of the occasion. And based on the reaction of the guests, we think we succeeded! It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime event that we were privileged to be a part of.
The end result was a truly dreamy event that felt straight out of a Bollywood movie. Most importantly, the bride and groom were thrilled with how perfectly their special day turned out.
Designing a Dreamy Setting
When it comes to weddings, there’s no such thing as too much planning. But when you’re dealing with two states—and two sets of traditions—the planning process can become even more complex. From the very beginning, we knew that this wasn’t going to be a typical Indian wedding. The bride is north Indian and the groom is from Karnataka, so we really had to consider how to meld two cultures together into one cohesive event.
The bride and groom told us they wanted an open, non-traditional space for their festivities, hence the venue was Royalton Leisure and we were set to turn it into a colorful paradise that felt fit for a Bollywood movie set.
Another important element of the design was incorporating both north and south Indian traditions into the ceremony. The couple is from two different states in India, so they wanted to make sure both families felt comfortable and included during the celebration. We think we accomplished that by creating a ceremony that was rooted in tradition but still had its own unique flare.
Bringing the Celebration to Life
Of course, no matter how beautiful a setting is, it’s nothing without the people who bring it to life. And this wedding was no exception. The bride and groom were so full of joy throughout the entire celebration. Seeing them surrounded by their friends and family, all wearing traditional Indian attire, was truly a sight to behold.
